- Their neckties are considered to be among the most beautiful in the world, from a very old tradition. They they have a catalog in color they send on request, also make ties to order. Past customers include Fiat President Gianni Agnelli, Presidents of Italy Scalfaro and Cossiga, Cary Grant, and Nelson Rockefeller. They made the exclusive ties for the heads of government who participated in the 1994 Economic Summit.

- Exquisite leather articles are sold in this family-run business, where Aldo Tramontano and his son Francesco design and produce handmade leather articles from belts to suitcases. Hot items are the women's bucket bag and men's attache` case, everything made from hides imported from England. They will also design and make anything to order.

- Amadeo Canfora is no longer with us, but daughter Angela is continuing the tradition. At press time the unique moccasins were not available, nor the made-to-order slippers with your needlepoint tops, but Sra. Angela hopes to find a suitable laboratory. Meanwhile, a stunning assortment of sandals with the Canfora touch are available at reasonable prices.

- The Carthusian monks provided the "recipes" for the unique perfumes you can buy here including "Aria di Capri" and "Gelsomino (Jasmine) di Capri." Very reasonably priced, you can also buy the fragrances in cream form, perfect for traveling. I always stock up on Jasmine perfume for myself and the cream version to give for presents.

- Ausilia Veneruso, owner of the library also owns a publishing house which specializes in books about Capri written by people who have visited or lived there such as Norman Douglas. They stock a large variety interesting books, and this is a meeting place for booklovers from all over the world. The yearly literary prize they award is a big social event on the island.
