Laura Grosso was born in Bari, Italy, on March 3, 1955.
After licensing from the Art High School (Liceo Artistico) of Via di Ripetta, Rome, she attended the course in Painting held by Alberto Ziveri, at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Rome, where she graduated brilliantly in 1980.
In 1984 she obtained a teaching degree.
Her first exhibition was at the "Barion", Bari, in 1973. After some time dedicated to tuition, in 1982 she took part to the collective exhibition "La mosca Bianca" in Rome.
In 1983 she joins coreographer Enzo Cosimi, for whom she painted her work "Calore", named after the theatre piece it was made for.
Her "duet exhibition" with painter Carlo Carfagni, at the "Padiglione Borghese of Rome, was documented by Paolo Balmas on the Italian art magazine "Segno".
Again to work with E. Cosimi, she painted "Repertori d'Amore", and takes part to the theatre piece it was named after (1984).
Back to public and private tuition, in 1985 she is included in the "Archivio Ufficiale di Giovani Artisti" ("Official Archive of Young Artists") composed by the Galleria "Sala Uno" of Rome.
In 1986 one of her works is bought by the Galleria "Anna D'Ascanio"
In 1989 Grosso moves to Chicago. Some of her works are published in the scientific magazine "Tabloid".
The year 1990 sees an exhibition of her works at the Abel Joseph Gallery, Chicago. In the following year she is present among the collective exhibition "Showcase of Art", set up by Abel Joseph Gallery at the Lakepoint Tower, Chicago.
Her return to Rome is marked by the exhibition of her "Pensieri Meccanici" at the Studio d'Arte Contemporanea Pino Casagrande, Rome (1994).
Laura Grosso lives and works in Rome.
