The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is a nonprofit association that controls, coordinates, and encourages the development of Italian fashion through shows and events gathering the necessary means and instruments. The methods and the strategies are listed as follows:
- establish the strategies that regulate function of the creative activities and protect them
- evaluate the credentials presented by wouldbe associates for entrance in the Chamber
- empower and stimulate research activity that the sector conducts to benefit the entire production of fabrics and clothing.
- defend and promote the creativity of Italian Fashion in the local market as well as international markets
- collaborates with the Minister of Foreign Trade and with the Industry and the ICE to promote and realize programs of study, promotion, and operational in Italy and abroad favoring the creative aspect and immagine of Italian Fashion
- facilitate the relations between fashion and industry and that of fashion and complementary economic sectors
- prepares and solicits legislative programs in favor of the operators in the Fashion sector
- encourages the participation of the members in events of definite prestige
- organizes and coordinates the fashion collections in Rome and Milan
- collaborates and finances promotions of the various categories of the members, in Italy and abroad.
The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is organized in the following manner:
- Houses of High Fashion and Pret-a-porter
- Houses of High Fashion fur
- Houses creating costume jewelry, leather, stockings and products, accessories and products covering the entire Fashion spectrum
- Companies that produce and distribute texties and furnish prime material for High Fashion and Pret-a-porter
- Houses that create mens and womens stockings, perfumes, and cosmetic lines for Fashion.
Furthermore the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italian directs and coordinates: the High Fashion Collections in Rome in January and July and promotes the Mens Collections in January and July and the Womens Pret-a-porter Collections in March and October.
The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is structered as follows:
- General Assembly
- Board of Directors
- President's Committee
- Examiners of the Balance (Auditors)
- Becoming a member of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana means being an active sustainer of Italian Fashion and participating in new programs for its development.

Fashion and Design from Italy has been on the web since February 1995. It was the first ever web about fashion. We're working on a new section about Italian Design - industrial design that includes furniture, ceramics, bathrooms, home and office accessories, automobiles and other articles that have won prizes throughout the world and are exhibited in museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
